Frequently asked questions
What will I need to play the 100% Virtual games?
1.Virtual Museum software - This will help you ‘explore’ the museum remotely.
2.Facebook Messenger - This is effectively the game. You’ll need to message Winglebert, who’s your “Virtual best friend” and he will explain more!
3.Time - you’ll need 1-2 hours to fully enjoy the game from start to finish.
How do I start the game?
If you haven't already, please review the “
100% Virtual games” page. Here you will find all games available and their difficulty levels. You should consider reviewing the
difficulty level chart to help you decide which difficulty to go for!
Once you have decided which game is for you, all you need to do is select this (from either the shop or the list of games at the bottom of the 100% virtual games page).
Within each of the Game pages you will find the links to the game and all the other necessary web-pages needed to explore the museum virtually. Open them and Winglebert, your virtual friend will help you from here!
Stuck within the game/game has restarted?
If you’re stuck on a puzzle/riddle which is to solve the next artefact, choose from the in-game hints/clues which will be available under each specific puzzle/riddle.
If you’re stuck on a question specific to an artefact, firstly, re-watch the relevant video/podcast and try again. If you’re still stuck, you can message Winglebert “answer” and manually find the answer you need. To continue, you will need to type this answer to Winglebert and he will continue with the game.
If the game restarts for any reason, to get back to where you last were, simply type in the last correct answer you provided to Winglebert. He will continue from this point.
How much will it cost?
All of our virtual tours are free of charge - think of it as our lockdown gift from us!
Once lockdown lifts, we will be rolling out in-person games! We’re committed to providing the main versions of these games free of charge also as we’re a firm believer that educational fun should be available to all. However, we’ve got to fund ourselves somehow… If you enjoy the free version you can help us by donating through our “Buy us a Coffee” page. There will also be alternative games featuring different artefacts, puzzles and storylines at each location which will be available at a small fee.
How long will it take?
Depends how fast you are at solving puzzles and how many there are of you in your group. On average a game will take between 1-2 hours. We recommend you and your team allow for 2 hours as it's better to play the whole game in one go!
Do I need prior “Escape room” experience?
No, not at all if you select the beginner version! All you need is an appetite for fun and interesting facts and enjoy logical and critical thinking!
We recommend you review the
difficult chart and select the one which best fits you.
Are the games appropriate for young children?
Yes we think so, however if the children are under 14 we recommend you (the adult) play with them as there may be puzzles/riddles which would be too challenging for them to solve alone. We also suggest the beginner versions as they’re built with children in mind.
Before starting any of our games with children under 14, we recommend the adult reviews the storyline of the game beforehand to assess whether they feel it's appropriate for the children playing.

I don’t have a laptop/your tablet wont open the museum virtual tour?
The museum virtual tour needs to be viewed in “desktop” mode. The mobile website version will not run it. However, this can be fixed!
You can follow the instructions in the game (Winglebert will provide advice on how to open this when he explains the game rules/instructions).
Note, if you only have a mobile the game may be hard to play.
Tablet not opening the virtual tour website:
Your tablet is most likely trying to open the website in mobile view. You will also need to follow the instructions described above!
